What ‘Unlimited’ Hosting Really Means

“Unlimited storage, unlimited bandwidth” is on almost every hosting ad you’ll see. It’s not really unlimited — no server has infinite disk space — it’s a marketing word for “we’re betting most customers won’t use much.”

What we do instead

We don’t advertise a storage or bandwidth cap, but we don’t call it “unlimited” either. Fair usage applies: no unrelated services running off your hosting account (file storage, video streaming), no sustained resource use that measurably affects other customers on the same shared server, and no abusive scripts or crawlers. That’s it — three actual exceptions, written down on our Terms & Conditions page, not a hidden gotcha.

What happens if you go over

We talk to you about upgrading — we don’t suspend the site without warning. The only exception is illegal or actively harmful activity, which gets dealt with immediately regardless of plan.

Why this matters more than the word “unlimited”

A host that won’t tell you what the actual limits are can enforce whatever they like, whenever they like. A written fair usage policy means you know exactly what would trigger a conversation — and it’s the same conversation for every customer, not a judgment call made after the fact.
